v0.0.2 - Menus and Set-up
Five Nights at Fredbear's » Devlog
Hello, everyone! This is the first post highlighting changes made to Five Nights at Fredbear's. Even though this is the first post, I won't be going into too much detail about the game and its coming-to-be. All of that is in the game itself under the Credits menu.
To begin, most of the menus that can be accessed in the game have been implemented (essentially, everything you see before the actual gameplay). This include...
- a neat little introduction and standard FNAF warning screen (both can be skipped through by clicking, pressing SPACE, or pressing ENTER)
- a title screen based off of the title screen that every version of Fredbear's I have created has had: including the Fredbear plush on the right. The glitching of the plush has changed over time, but the main artwork has remained constant (credits in-game for plush artist). I created the main menu theme.
- a rudimentary settings menu that allows you to toggle fullscreen, change the volume, and manipulate save data
- save data itself, which is simply stored in a text file for easy reading and unintended user manipulation!
- a credits and backstory screen
- a newspaper when pressing "New Game" and the night transition screen displaying something like "Night 1, 12:00 AM." The sound effect used on this transition screen is a combination of jsfxr and a royalty-free sound effect from a website I've forgotten at this point
- the beginnings of an office/actual gameplay
That looks like a lot but, in reality, it isn't much. Please give this version a try and provide feedback on the GUI so far! Expect more updates on the actual game soon. Until then, thank you for reading, and have a wonderful day!
