Devlog 18: Short-Lived
Hello everyone! Welcome to a quick update: Endurance v0.1.4.1. (I promise this will be one of the last times I used a fourth number. I don't like the way it looks either).
What's New?
This version has actually gotten rid of some things, mainly any references to the Watchdog. If you want to learn about what it did, check out the previous devlog. For those who already know, just know that I ultimately decided that I didn't like its addition and just got rid of it.
In other news, work has begun behind the scenes on Endurance's bosses! I'm already planning out and drawing a few things for how bosses will work, and I hope to have a prototype boss up and running for v0.1.5. Stay tuned!
The mystery box has gotten a small touch-up. Now, whenever the mystery box gives you a power-up, you will receive a notification telling you what power-up you got. That way, you don't just hear the collection sound and gaze at your inventory in confusion.
One final thing is the addition of music in the background as you play the game. This song (creatively titled Hop, Skip, and a Dash) is the first of a few songs that have the ability to play whilst playing Endurance. Different situations and menus will have their own tracks, but I haven't made those yet.
Anyways, that's all for now. I know this was yet another small update, but I wanted to get it out now so you guys don't have to sit with the version of the game that has the Watchdog. Its removal was the main reason for releasing such a small update right now. Thank you for reading, and have a wonderful day!
