Devlog 21: New Chonk Phases
Hello everyone! Welcome to Endurance v0.1.7. This update features new additions to the Chonk boss.
What's new with Chonk?
Chonk has gotten a few changes in this update. Now, he has four* phases throughout his boss fight.
Phase 1 (100-75 health) - Chonk slowly follows the player around.
Phase 2 (75-50 health) - Chonk is slightly faster, and occasionally stops moving to spawn in enemies to assist him. During this spawning phase, Chonk will close his eyes and stop moving. He is also invulnerable to attack.
Phase 3 (50-25 health) and Phase 4 (25-0 health) - Chonk is slightly faster and spawns more enemies.
The enemies spawned in by Chonk are chosen at random, and can be countered using a Screen Wiper power-up.
Other Tweaks
There were two noteworthy bugs fixed in this update. One of those bugs involved the tutorial text incorrectly displaying in the Basic Gameplay section of the Guide. More space than necessary was added between paragraphs. I don't know the reason for this, but it should be fixed now. Another bug fixed was that the enemy and collectable limit wasn't properly implemented, meaning that an unlimited amount of enemies and collectables could be in-game at once. This is now fixed, and only 40 of each entity type can be on-screen at once (40 enemies and 40 collectables max).
